Happy New Year!
Did you know.
. .
. .
. that PCS Instruments
has recently added a new part number to our lineup? Yup, they’ve
added a 10 pack of those little screws that everyone loses when they drop
them. You know which ones they are; they’re the small screws to hold
the disk specimen in place. The Part Number is HFRBSS with 10
of the button-head screws (5 pair) and they are $27.50 per pack of 10.

ASTM Standard Practices for Everyone!
|
As one the ASTM CS92 Vice-Chairs, the D02 group
responsible for the ASTM Inter-Laboratory Crosscheck Program (ILCP) or “Crosscheck”
Program, I wanted to direct your attention to a couple of ASTM Practices
that might be of interest to you. Because these are Standard
Practices, you might not have noticed them before.
First, ASTM D6617, Standard Practice for Laboratory
Bias Detection Using a Single Test Result from Standard Material.
What’s this you say? A Standard Practice?
Yes, but it’s not just any Standard Practice. This one takes you
through how to detect whether you have a bias in your laboratory from
running a single standard material. Check out D6617 here.
Next is ASTM D7372, the Standard Guide for Analysis
and Interpretation of Proficiency Test Program Results.
ASTM Coordinating Subcommittee CS94 has put together
one of the most important practices that you could ever put your hands
on. D7372 answers the question of what do you do after you run a
Crosscheck sample and get the data back.
Check out D7372 here.
